Looking for bathroom decor with no counter space? You can still make room for a little greenery, pretty containers and the things you reach for every morning.
Start with an empty wall, a narrow gap beside the toilet or a shelf above your sink.
You can keep it simple or go all out. These ideas include wall organizers, little decorative touches and a few bigger renovation options. Not every picture shows a counter-free bathroom, but there are details worth borrowing for yours.
Small Bathroom Decor and Storage Ideas to Try
a narrow toilet-side shelf
We’re starting off strong with this cute little storage tower. There’s a roll hanging near the top, spare rolls stacked underneath and a leafy plant above it all.
If you have a similar gap beside your toilet, measure it before choosing a shelf. I’d keep the white planter for that same simple look.
bold veining and a wall faucet
Don’t want to add lots of little decorations? No problem!
The gray veining across this sink and backsplash gives you plenty to look at on its own.
This bathroom does have counter space. For a smaller renovation, you might borrow the wall-mounted faucet idea rather than the wide surround.
a long shelf below the mirror
How cute is this rustic-looking organizer? The long brown shelf holds brushes, bottles and little cups right beneath the mirror cabinet.
Try a shallow divided shelf above your own sink if the wall has room. Keeping your everyday things up here could free that narrow sink rim.
clear trays for the little things
If you’re looking for something simple to organize small items, these clear trays are worth a look. This picture shows them stacked on a shop shelf, not installed in a bathroom.
You could use a tray inside an existing drawer or cabinet to group hair clips and other little bits. Check the measurements first so it actually fits.
a lit niche and turquoise accents
I love the turquoise blind and matching dish in this little bathroom. The illuminated recess gives the dish its own spot above the toilet, with tall closed cabinets overhead.
If you’re planning built-in storage, save this arrangement. You don’t need to fill the whole open shelf with decorations.
ladder shelves and white towels
This ladder-style shelf may just be one of my favorites here. I love the stacks of white towels and the leafy greenery spilling over the top.
Baskets fill the lower and upper spaces without hiding the whole frame. Try this if you have an open stretch of floor beside the bath rather than room around the sink.

little cups on the wall
No shelf beside your sink? Look up!
A row of silver-colored cups sits beneath the mirror here, with more small holders farther down the wall.
You could borrow this arrangement for combs and toothbrushes. I’d leave the sink edge clear rather than adding another container below.
a counter in progress
This one is a renovation reference rather than a finished decor idea. The picture shows a pale slab-style surface being positioned beside a window, with a matching vertical panel underneath.

If adding a small surface is an option, you could discuss a similar corner arrangement with your installer. The photo alone doesn’t show a completed bathroom or storage setup.
a flush wall panel
Don’t want your wall to look crowded with shelves? This nearly hidden rectangular panel is a lovely detail.
Its golden-brown grain continues the look of the surrounding wall.
For a renovation, you could ask about a recessed cabinet with a similar flush front. The panel is closed here, so the picture doesn’t show what’s behind it.
a sink skirt and yellow mirror
How cute is that yellow mirror? The white sink skirt has a dark bottom border, with a little red-and-green dish adding another splash of color up top.
A skirt is worth considering if you’d rather cover the area below an open sink. Keep the decorations on the rim small, just like this.
a slim white wire rack
Here’s another idea that’s still in progress. A tall white wire rack is being held against the wall, with several arms projecting out from its narrow center.
You could look for a similar wall organizer for your bathroom, but check its intended use and mounting instructions. This still doesn’t show the finished arrangement.
a home for hair tools
The hair-tool clutter crowd is going to like this one! A wall holder keeps the dryer to one side, with a styling tool and brushes in the cups beside it. The cords loop below.
Try a purpose-made organizer near your getting-ready spot. Let heated tools cool before storing them unless the holder is specifically designed for hot tools.
a fern beside the bath
I love this fern tucked into the corner beside the tub. The white paneling and small bottles below the window keep the rest of the room simple.
If your sink has no decorating space but your bath has a ledge, try a plant there instead. Choose one suited to the light in your room.
matching rails and corner shelves
If you are looking for lots of wall-storage inspo, then this one is for you. There are towel rails above the toilet, little corner shelves beside the mirror and hooks along the left wall.

I especially love the matching brown details. You could borrow just the corner shelves if your bottles need a spot away from the sink.
a hanging pocket organizer
How adorable are those big patterned buttons? This dark gray pocket organizer hangs from a dowel, with rolled cloths, a comb and a small box tucked inside.
Try a hanging pocket for a few lightweight essentials. The floral background makes this one look especially sweet.
pink flowers on the wall
I am obsessed with this little wall vase. The pink tulips look so pretty beside the framed artwork, with their green stems showing through the clear holder.
The picture doesn’t show a bathroom, but the idea is lovely for an empty wall in yours. Use a holder designed for wall mounting rather than balancing a vase on the sink.
dark shelves and hanging jars
This is another way to move your everyday things onto the wall. The deep brown organizer holds bottles and hair tools, with a separate row of clear jars underneath.

I love being able to see the cotton swabs and other small supplies. If you borrow this setup, keep loose cords away from the sink instead of letting them hang across your work area.
olive green around the toilet
This olive-green shelving is just too cute. Narrow cubbies sit on both sides of the toilet, with baskets, bottles and spare rolls tucked inside.

The plants and little vases across the top are my favorite part. Measure around your toilet carefully if you want a similar unit, including the space needed to access the tank.
brown trim for recessed shelves
Sometimes the shelf itself is the detail worth saving. This close-up shows brown front trim against white walls, with the wire underside of the upper shelf still visible.
If you have an existing storage recess, you could try a similar front treatment. There are no accessories here yet, so you can keep your own styling as simple as you like.
floral jars and gold-colored rails
Last but definitely not least, we have this gorgeous wall shelf. I love the pale green vase and floral lidded jars!
The gold-colored rails look so pretty against the brown frame.
Try mixing useful containers with one small decorative piece, like the framed print shown here. You can have a lovely little display without putting anything beside the faucet.
