Looking for celestial decor that goes beyond a few stars on the wall? Think colorful moon faces, navy-and-gold dishes and a little lamp tucked beside your books.
There’s plenty to choose from here, whether you’re decorating a whole room or just one empty corner.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a starry ceiling. I especially love the crescent-shaped pieces.
Even a small moon hanging gives you a lovely place to start.
Moon and Star Decor Ideas to Save
colorful moon faces
We’re starting off strong with these super cute moon faces. I love the mix of pink, orange and blue against the rosy wall.
Each little face has a different expression.
Try hanging yours at staggered heights above a strand of lights. Keep the bedding pale if you want to follow this bedroom’s look.
a starry reading corner
Who wouldn’t want to look up at this ceiling? Tiny projected lights cover the sloped ceiling and spill down around the bookshelves.
The plants, round chair and scattered wall stars make this little corner even prettier. For a similar effect in your reading spot, try a star projector alongside the decor you already have.
gold moons on purple
I am obsessed with this wall arrangement. The large crescent-face mirror is gorgeous beside the smaller suns and long pointed stars.
Try mixing round pieces with a rectangular framed print like this one. You don’t need every decoration to match for the group to look lovely together.
glowing hanging stars
Don’t want to decorate an entire wall? No problem! These two glowing stars bring the theme into a small spot beside the sofa.
I love that they hang at different heights. Try the same arrangement in a corner rather than placing both stars in a straight line.
a crescent display shelf
How cute is this moon shelf? The navy face and gold-colored lines are my favorite parts, especially the little sun details around the curve.

Small bottles and colorful pointed ornaments fill the shelves here. You could use yours to show off a few tiny keepsakes instead.
a small moon gallery
If you are looking for something a little simpler, this one is for you. A framed sun print and a framed crescent sit among small round moon decorations on a gray wall.
Leave some space between each piece to follow this arrangement. That larger moon print is the one I’d start with.
navy skies and ruffled bedding
This bedroom mood board may just be one of my favorites here. I love the white ruffled bedding against the star-covered blue background.
The ornate wardrobe and trunk are so pretty too.
Use the collage as inspiration for pairing pale bedding with moon artwork. A hanging lantern like the one shown would be a lovely extra touch.
moon and star nursery colors
How sweet is this nursery mood board? The white crib and dresser sit alongside navy details, a mustard chair and little gold-colored stars.
Those star-shaped drawer pulls are worth saving on their own. If you want just a small nod to the theme, try similar details on storage furniture.
sun pillows and blue skies
If you are looking for an all-out celestial room, then this one is for you. There’s so much to love, from the orange moon pillow to the blue light across the ceiling.
I am obsessed with the big sun on the throw. Start with a patterned throw and a moon-shaped pillow if you want to try a smaller version of this look.
a flower-covered crescent wreath
This crescent wreath is just so pretty. Tiny white flowers and purple accents cover the left curve while the pointed ends stay more open.
The dangling clear ornaments are a lovely finishing touch. I’d keep the same purple-and-white palette if choosing a similar wreath for a door.
moon and star mosaic
Why leave the bathroom out? This backsplash has dark pointed stars, a shining crescent and scattered reflective squares against a pale background.
I especially love the uneven outline above the sink. Save this as inspiration if you’re planning a decorative backsplash rather than plain tiles.
navy constellation dishes
Bring a little of the night sky to your table with these navy dishes. The gold-colored stars, planets and tiny constellation lines are gorgeous.
The center bowl holds strawberries while an open section holds wrapped chocolates. Try a similar arrangement for a snack table, with matching little forks if you like the extra detail.
a glowing moon and star
I love this glowing yellow moon with the dark star across its right edge. The mottled surface makes it look a little different from a plain round light.
Hanging vines frame the lamp here. For your own corner, a moon light beside a favorite print would be a pretty combination.

a personalized starry hoop
How adorable is this little keepsake? A silver-colored crescent sits among pale stars above the personalized lettering.
The mix of filled stars and simple outlines is my favorite part. Choose a name and meaningful date for your own version, keeping the dark background if you love this color pairing.
blue moon and cloud hanging
I am obsessed with the colors in this hanging. The bright blue background, purple-and-blue border and pearly-looking clouds are absolutely gorgeous.
A pale crescent curves between the clouds. I’d give this one a spot on its own rather than crowding it with other decorations.
a star-covered chest
This dark blue chest has little gold-colored stars across the drawer fronts, sides and top. I love the mix of pointed stars and tiny speckles.
You could use this as inspiration for a furniture makeover while keeping the drawer knobs the same color as the chest.
stars across the window
This is such a pretty way to dress up a window. Dark star garlands hang in front of the pale shade and lower panes, with patterned curtains on either side.

Try staggering the strands so the stars don’t all end at the same height.
a tiny planet lamp
If you’re looking for a small detail rather than a whole room theme, go with a little illuminated orb like this one. It sits beside books and a solar-system illustration.
The curved light patterns on the shelf walls are so pretty. This is a lovely bit of inspiration for an otherwise plain book corner.

a deep blue ceiling in progress
Want to take the color overhead? This photo shows a ceiling partway through being painted deep blue, with a large white area still unfinished.
There aren’t any stars here yet. For a celestial version, you could use a blue ceiling as the starting point for tiny star details or projected lights.
a moon magic doormat
Last but definitely not least, we have this cute moon-themed doormat. I love the little house beneath the crescent and the words “Guarded by Moon Magic.”
The black design sits on a tan background, layered over a red patterned rug. Try a similar pairing if you want to bring the theme right to your doorway.
