Looking for fall scents beyond the usual pumpkin candle? Apple and cinnamon, caramel-inspired hair perfume and vanilla fragrance give you plenty to choose from.
These pictures include candles, room sprays and simmer-pot inspiration, plus a few seasonal displays worth saving.
You can keep things simple with one new scent or try a different format. Start with the fragrance names that catch your attention, then choose something that fits your routine.
Fall fragrance ideas worth saving
pumpkin jars and gold lids
We’re starting off strong with these cute pumpkin-covered candle jars. Orchard Cider, Autumn Harvest, Cinnamon Pumpkin Muffin and Pumpkin Brûlée give you four names to explore.
I love the pink pumpkins against the orange labels. Choose one of these colorful jars if you want your candle to double as a little fall decoration.
apple slices and cinnamon
If you love an apple-and-spice pairing, this picture is for you. Red-skinned apple wedges and cinnamon sticks float together in a black slow-cooker insert.
Save the combination as simmer-pot inspiration rather than a complete recipe. Follow your appliance instructions and never let a heated mixture run dry.
cream-colored wax bars
How cute are these little snap bars? The pale wax has brown speckles across the sections, with a label that reads “Fall Baby!”
This is a pretty option to investigate if you prefer wax melts to candles. Check the scent description first, since the name doesn’t tell you the fragrance notes.

spices beneath a glowing lamp
This lamp may just be one of my favorite pieces here. I love the patterned shade above the clear bowl of citrus peel, cinnamon sticks and star anise.
Take inspiration from the colors, but check the warmer’s instructions before putting a bowl of liquid beneath it. A pretty setup doesn’t establish that the appliance is intended for this use.
orange slices in a red pot
Want a citrus starting point? This image shows orange rounds being added to a cream-lined red pot on the stove.
For your own version, you might choose an orange-and-cinnamon simmer-pot recipe. That spice addition is a suggestion, not something shown in this step.
four pumpkin room sprays
The pumpkin fans have plenty to look at here! These room sprays are labeled Pumpkin Apple, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Pumpkin Cupcake.
I especially love the yellow pumpkin design on the Cupcake bottle. Pick the name that appeals to you, then sample it if possible rather than choosing on packaging alone.
star anise and colorful petals
I am obsessed with the colors in this potpourri bowl. The star anise shapes sit among orange petals, pale slices and little burgundy pieces.
Try a shallow white bowl for your own purchased potpourri if you want a similar display. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
warm vanilla sugar
Don’t want pumpkin on every label? No problem!
These Warm Vanilla Sugar candles offer another name to explore, with brown jars and scattered gold-colored detailing.
The packaging is pretty enough to keep the surrounding decor simple. I’d pair one unlit jar with a small cream-colored pumpkin.
caramel cream at the coffee table
How pretty is this little cafe scene? The Caramel Cream hair perfume sits beside a cup of coffee, dark sunglasses and brown accessories.
If you want to take a seasonal fragrance beyond your home, a hair perfume is one option to explore. Use it according to its label rather than treating a room spray as interchangeable.
orange garland and autumn branches
I love this orange-slice garland with the little hanging stars. The red and green branches above it look gorgeous against the pale mantel.
This one is decorating inspiration rather than a confirmed fragrance idea. Neither the dried slices nor the white tapers establish a scent, but the display could complement a citrus-themed room fragrance elsewhere.
amber jars with labeled notes
If you like knowing more than a candle’s name, this trio is worth a look. Toasted Almond Butter lists almond, tonka bean and vanilla. Amber Oak lists amber, oak and sage.
Maple Crème lists maple, vanilla and amber. I love how the simple white lettering looks against all three brown jars.
a simple pumpkin spice spray
Don’t want to go all out with patterned packaging? This Pumpkin Spice Room Spray keeps things simple with an amber-colored bottle and black trigger.
The tiny orange pumpkin shapes around the base are such a cute styling detail. You could use a similar arrangement for a seasonal photo, then store the spray as directed.
tied potpourri gift jars
These little jars are so pretty! The white covers, string ties and narrow “Stove Top Potpourri” tags make the dried contents part of the decoration.
If you’re packaging a verified simmer-pot blend as a gift, borrow this simple presentation. Include the actual ingredients and safe-use directions rather than relying on a decorative tag alone.
sweet cinnamon pumpkin duo
Here’s another way to explore Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. This time, it’s a matching body lotion and body wash rather than a home fragrance.
I love the little orange-and-gold squares on the lotion bottle. You can choose one product to start with instead of committing to the whole matching routine.
pumpkin spice with a gingham bow
How adorable is that orange gingham bow? The see-through bag sits beside dried orange rounds, cinnamon sticks and cloves, with a card identifying it as a Pumpkin Spice botanical simmer-pot blend.
This is another lovely gift-packaging idea. Keep the ingredient card with the blend so the recipient knows what they’re using.
an amber reed diffuser
If you’re looking for a simple seasonal display, this one is for you. The faceted amber-colored diffuser bottle sits on a round slab with yellow, red and pale pink leaves.
The fragrance isn’t identified here. For your own version, choose a labeled autumn diffuser refill and compatible reeds rather than guessing from the bottle’s color.
shelves full of autumn candles
Where would you even start with this shelf? There are orange and brown jars everywhere, plus pale pumpkin-shaped containers near the bottom.
I’d narrow it down by scent first, then choose a jar I’d enjoy displaying. The little green pumpkin is especially cute if you want something other than orange.
cranberries citrus and rosemary
This is another pretty simmer-pot combination, but it looks quite different from the apple one above. Bright cranberries surround orange slices, cinnamon sticks and green rosemary sprigs.
Save this picture if you like a little herbal inspiration alongside citrus and spice. Keep any simmering pot attended and maintain its water level.
a smiling pumpkin under the lamp
How cute is that jack-o’-lantern face? The orange container sits beneath a spotted lampshade, with a woven pumpkin beside it.
No fragrance is identified, so this is more about the Halloween display. If you want a similar candle-warmer setup, use a candle and container approved for your warmer and follow its clearance guidance.
vanilla and chocolate amber
Last but definitely not least, we have Kayali Vanilla 28 beside Bath & Body Works Chocolate Amber fine fragrance mist. I love the deep burgundy bottle next to the brown-and-gold label.
If both appeal to you, sample them separately first. You could then try a light pairing to see whether you enjoy them together.
